I love this keyboard I’ve had this keyboard for over a year and love it. The battery lasts for months—I’ve only had to charge it twice so far. I tried the cheaper ones and really this is much better and worth the money. I’ve now given mine to my 76 year old mom who has never got used to typing on the iPad screen—got hers paired in no time and she is very happy. Terrible Battery Life I have been having a lot of problems with the keyboard’s battery losing its charge. And if you're out and about and going for ease and portability, why would you want to take off the case? I'm not talking about some macho-big case, either.

The iPad is not a laptop and cases that try to convert it into one leave marks on the screen or otherwise make the iPad a pain to use. This keyboard easily props up your iPad (instant laptop!) but only when you need it to. It even works on your lap (with a book or hard surface.I use my leather padfolio).
